Last week we tried our Gourmet Passport at the Tini Bar, located on the Beach of Saint-Elme at La Seyne sur Mer.
I have a
negative apriori on bars and restaurants located along beaches, because often
the quality is far from being present. Maybe because location and tourists are
enough to assure the annual sales ?!
Therefore
we walked with a little apprehension on the terrace in front of the sea of
this bar which opened its doors in 2012.
The Tini-Bar
wants to take us on a journey back the 30’s after the prohibition. As such we
were a little disappointed by the decoration which could be a little more
marked to assure this adventure.
The menu contains about fifty cocktails, some of them are classic and many are very original. Just like the menu of tapas printed on a craft envelope which proposes assortments of meat, fish, fryings and miscellaneous tapas.
Tapas and cocktails change regularly and allows to come back and ear the acoustic concerts without growing tired!
We tried
the gambas pricked in chorizo, the doughnuts of camembert cheese, frogs'
legs with garlic and parsley, the crispy saint-marcelin (sooo good!), and
pequillos stuffed with soft goat cheese and bacon (yummy, our favorite!).
Everything
was excellent and home-made. There was a small error during the order taking
and we had a skewer of breaded molds instead of gambas. But the team was
impeccable by bringing us the initially ordered gambas and leaving us the molds
which were not counted in the bill.
The Tini
Bar proposes regularly acoustic concerts of electro swing.
Next schedule on April 18th for a PROHIBITION NIGHT ! : vintage (20’s or 30’s) dress code is required, a comic striptease with
Nina Krueger, tables of poker, champagnes, cocktails, cigars, tapas…
The bill
(cocktails, tapas, desserts) was 63.50€ and thanks to the passport we paid only
40.50€ a very good deal for a good evening!
