Where to have fun by night in the center of Toulon ?

After the Second World War the center of Toulon was called "Petit Chicago" (little Chicago) and was an animated district full of life, restaurants, bars and ... girls bars for sailors. The 70's was the end of the permissions for sailors in Toulon and the district started to decline.

If you're coming to Toulon nowadays you'll have the opportunity to see the city having a new look. Lots of streets and buildings with works in progress. Unfortunatly lots of shops are closing but also new ones are opening and you'll find motivated people wanting to liven up their city.

Ask Toulon inhabitants for places to have fun by night in Toulon and almost everybody will tell you to go to the Mourillon District. Nevertheless there's something to happen almost every night in the old city center. Toulon 2.00 is in progress !

• Mondays : The Polyglot Café
  
  
  
  
  Every monday, travellers and people interested in culture and languages use to gather and chat with a 2€ drink in english, french, spanish or watever, depending of who's there ! I'm proud to say that I initiated this event with Couchsurfing !
  
  It takes place at l'Art Bohème - 5, rue Fougassière

• Tuesdays : The Chicag’ Social Club
  
  

  
  
  

  The Chicag' Hostel is the only youth hostel of Toulon. Initiators of several events, they now liven up the street with music every Tuesday from 8:00pm to 10:00 pm. An unusual band participates to the open scenes.

• Thursdays : Evenings at Le Petit Cours
  
  
  

  
  
  The Cultures and Communication association, created in 1982, does not stop being renewed and livening up the city center.
  
  During the summer a concert takes place every Thursday and all year long other events follows one to another (dance, English/Spanish workshop, cooking, exhibitions, literary café).

• Fridays and Saturdays Evening : The Alternative Club
  
  
  

  
  
  
  The Club of the Black Cat is an association. It is a musical and artistic alternative club opened on Fridays and Saturdays evening and proposes in the city center a place to listen to alternative pop and rock music.
  
  
  It takes place at Au Chat Noir - 2 rue Saint Vincent.
  
  
  
  

And regularly there's also :

• L'arbre à Bulles (The Trees with Bubbles), a tearoom and cocktail bar in front of Les Halles. Opened from Tuesday till Thursday from 6 pm till 1 am and on Fridays / Saturday from 6 pm till 2 am. Well known for its musical evenings and the organization of the Festival TLN of the digital and electronic cultures.

• The Axolotl - Contemporary Cabinet of Curiosities is a Cultural place in the center of the old city center of Toulon, including a laboratory / workshop, a space of exhibitions and a tea room.



• Les Yeux dans les jeux - The association settled in the Home of the Youth, 11 place d'Armes, proposes evenings games to think or to laugh, but always to share between family or friends. There is also an Asmodée Café Tour : every 3rd Saturday of the month with novelties to be tried and full of animations and events all year round.
